Community Programs
Bringing People Together
At Elevation Ministries, community isn't something we simply talk about.
It's something we create.
Throughout the year, we host recurring community events at our home
in Denver designed to give people opportunities to meet, laugh,
create, learn, play, celebrate, and connect with one another.
Our community programming generally takes place every other week
and includes a rotating variety of experiences so that people with
different interests have different ways to participate.
Comedy & Laughter
Laughter has a remarkable ability to bring people together.
Our stand-up comedy events provide a place for community members
to gather, discover performers, share an experience, and spend an evening laughing together.
Comedy is entertainment, but it is also a uniquely human form of connection. A room full of strangers can become a community surprisingly quickly when everyone is laughing at the same thing.
Arts & Crafts Nights
Creativity should be experienced, not simply observed.
Our arts and crafts nights encourage participants to make something
themselves in a relaxed, social environment. No particular artistic ability
is required. The purpose isn't perfection—it's creativity, conversation,
experimentation, and enjoying the experience of making something
alongside other people.
Film Nights
Stories give us opportunities to see the world from perspectives other than our own.
Our film nights bring people together to experience movies, documentaries, and other visual storytelling in a communal setting. Films can entertain, educate, inspire discussion, challenge assumptions, and introduce audiences to new ideas.
Talks & Discussions
Learning and personal growth are important parts of the Elevation Ministries
mission.
Our talks and community discussions provide opportunities to explore
interesting ideas, hear different perspectives, ask questions, and engage in
thoughtful conversation.
We want our community to remain curious.
Games, Bingo & Tournaments
Not every meaningful community experience needs to be serious.
Sometimes connection begins with play.
Bingo nights, video game tournaments, Dungeons & Dragons, and other
games create relaxed environments where people can interact naturally,
compete, collaborate, laugh, and make new friends.
Games provide something increasingly valuable: an excuse to sit down together and spend time with other people.
Shared Meals & Holiday Celebrations
Few traditions bring people together as naturally as sharing food
and celebrating together.
Elevation Ministries hosts community gatherings surrounding
Thanksgiving, Festivus, Christmas, Hanukkah, and other holidays
and traditions throughout the year.
Our potluck Thanksgiving celebrations and other shared meals
invite members of the community to contribute, participate, and
experience the simple but powerful tradition of gathering around
a table together.
Our holiday programming celebrates both our differences and the experiences we share.
Meditation & Mindfulness
Alongside our social programming, Elevation Ministries creates opportunities for quiet reflection and mindfulness.
Meditation encourages participants to temporarily step away from the distractions of everyday life, focus their attention inward, and create space for reflection.
Our guided meditation experience within BEYOND combines
meditation with immersive light, sound, music, art, and architecture
to create an environment unlike an ordinary meditation setting.
BEYOND: Art, Technology & Reflection
BEYOND is Elevation Ministries' immersive guided meditation and
light experience.
Using projection mapping, visual art, music, light, sound, and the
extraordinary architecture of our Denver home, BEYOND surrounds
visitors with an evolving visual environment designed to encourage
wonder, mindfulness, and reflection.
BEYOND demonstrates one of the ideas at the heart of
Elevation Ministries: meaningful experiences can change the way we
see our surroundings—and sometimes the way we see ourselves.
Everyone Needs a Place to Connect
The individual programs may be different, but they share a common purpose.
A person might discover Elevation Ministries because of an immersive light experience and return for a comedy show. Someone attending an arts and crafts night might meet a person who later joins their Dungeons & Dragons game. Someone who comes for meditation might return for a film or holiday celebration.
That's how community develops.
One experience. One conversation. One friendship at a time.
